The UkaniManje album is a collaboration between top Zambian musicians and health experts, who have set out to “Wake Up” the youth across Zambia so they can make informed, healthy choices. Each song in the album is focused on a particular topic regarding HIV and AIDS. The songs are aimed at reinforcing messages on HIV and to encourage people living positive.
The UkaniManje features artists including Ephraim “Son of Africa,” Esther Chungu, Chileshe Bwalya, Chef 187, Abel Chungu, Wezi, Daxon “Ma Africa”, James Sakala, God’s General, Magg 44 and Slapdee.
The album was dropped on 1st December 2021 in honor of World AIDS Day. The album, together with music videos, are all available on the UkaniManje YouTube channel. The released songs include: “Ananisanka” by Abel Chungu, “Nsambisheni” by Esther Chungu, “It’s Time To Wake Up” by Ephraim, “Osachinja Chinja” by Daxon Ma Africa, “Moyo” by Wezi, “Waiting” by Chileshe Bwalya, “Keep on Fighting” by God’s General, “Aletina Ifumo” by Chef 187 and “Iyo” by James Sakala, as well as two additional bonus tracks featuring Magg 44 and Slapdee.
