Musician Shadreck Mukenge popularly known as Mumba Yachi has been fined a total of k10,000 with 12 months simple imprisonment after being found guilty in his case.
This followed after his lawyer pleaded for leniency based on the facts that he has a wife and one year old daughter who depend on him for livelihood further adding that he has not wasted the court’s time he was also involved in the fight against gender based violence and has contributed greatly to the Zambian music industry.
This is in a case were Mumba Yachi a Congolese national was arrested by the immigration department for obtaining Zambian citizenship illegally.
He has been instructed to raise the k10,000 within 24 hours, therefore well-wishers and fellow musicians have been called to come through and help him.
