2017 was a great and amazing year for Zambian music and we expect 2018 to be even more lit. A lot of good Albums were released last year and some even won prestigious awards at Kwacha Music awards. We have collected a list of album which are likely to be released this year by your favorite artists. While some of them were officially announced, some are only rumoured. The list also include those which couldn’t drop last year and are therefore expected this year.
Below is the list;
- Ghetto President by Macky 2
This is one of the much anticipated albums of 2018 and we hope it sets the bar high when it drops. Having been heavily hyped and obviously perfected for a long period “Ghetto President” has many fans on lock. Macky 2 announced that the album is done making and only waiting its release
- Vanilla by Bobby East
Themed as “Robert’s Love Letter” Vanilla focus on the afro pop and love side of Bobby East as a versatile artiste. The award winning rapper already has a chart topping single called “Psycho Bae” off the tape. Vanilla drops in April, 2018
- Become by Pompi
The African Eagle is already counting down days to the release of this masterpiece. With 3 single already out, Become is already giving fans high hopes. It officially drops on 30th March, 2018.
- The Difference by Tiye-P
Having released his critically claimed debut album called “RED” last year, Mwana Wa Nyirenda is ready to give HipHop another masterpiece to vibe to. “The Difference” already has 3 singles out and its release date will be announced soon.
- This is Music (TIM) by Tim
Tim fka Thugga was actually supposed to release this album last year. He has since put out one single called “Heartbeat” and we can only hope it drops this year.
- Kissing The Music by Kaladoshas
Kaladoshas announce about the release of this project a few weeks ago and release a radio charting single called “Tenga”.
- Outside the Rox 2 by Jay Rox
Headphone music fontliner and former Zone Fam Member “Jay Rox” will be dropping the second sequel to his 2015 album “Outside The Rox”. This album is based on the theme “Thinking outside The box” and is likely to drop after June. The album is rumored to feature African Superstars especially from Nigeria.
- Love Revolution by Abel Chungu
Gospel Sensational “Abel Chungu” has an album dropping soon and so far has released lead singles like “Ndekonka” feat Ephraim and Insenge feat Chef 187.
- Art is Tic by K.R.Y.T.I.C
K.R.Y.T.I.C has an album in the pipeline and this is a follow up to BFF which dropped in 2015. The emcee who is back from retirement (lol) is expected to feature South Africa’s HipHop mogul “HHP”.
10. Saved by Stevo
The Rap Guru will finally be gracing us with his debut album and its dubbed “Saved”. Stevo has since put out 2 singles from the album which include “Amani Sunga” feat Izreal” and “Nekha” feat Kekero.
11. Man II Man by Pilato
Controversial HipHop artiste and Poet “Pilato” has an album lined up this year. The rapper announced about its release after he dropped the controversial song called “Koswe Mumpoto”
12. The Zambian Dream by Drimz
Kalindula Star and singer “Drimz” has an album called “The Zambian Dream“. Its slated for release on 2nd April, 2018..
