As his plans to feature South African multi-award winning artiste Cassper Nyovest go on, that certainly isn’t the only thing King Illest looks forward to, as the Tonga Trap pioneer also looks forward to scooping the awards for the two categories he’s been nominated in for the Kwacha Music Awards 2018.
The award show has received so much backlash in last few weeks from both fans and artistes such that celebrities like Mampi, Jay Rox and Chef 187 pulled out, but King Illest has backed the awards.
Though acknowledging that there are many faults in the nomination criteria, during a Diamond TV “On The Table” interview with Chimweka, the “Ndisweke” hitmaker (Click here to get the song) expressed how people should appreciate the awards despite its deficiencies and “lack of proper structure”.
To exemplify his statement, he gave an example of how “bad food is better than no food” hence the need for people to support the award show so as to not discourage the organizers.
He further admitted that there truly was more need for the organizers to have done much research, especially in the Hip Hop category
