The Government of the Republic of Zambia today Launched the 2022 Ngoma Awards. The Awards were Launched by the Minister of Youths, Sports & Arts at Press Briefing In Lusaka.
The Event was attended by artistes such as Macky 2, KB, Angela Nyirenda, Organized Family, Oway Mwape among others. According to a statement released by the Minister, this year’s awards will be the first of their kind as we make sure that deserving artists be it Musicians, Actors, Visual artists, and others are well rewarded. Hon. Nkandu also opened the official Nomination entries and further urged all artists to commence making submissions of their works before 30th October 2022.
He further stated that the nominees are slated to be announced to the general public for a popular vote on 10th November. According to the roadmap set, voting will close on the 1st of December and the award ceremony will be held on the 3rd of December 2022 in Lusaka.
Ngoma Awards seek to award personnel from across spectrum of art such as Poetry, Drama, Music, Fashion etc and are meant to held annually.
