Roberto Banda or better known as “Roberto” is expected to embark on his Australia & Malaysia Musical Tour during the incoming summer. However as part of the announcement of this big gig, the RnB Hitmaker decided to share his humble background as a kid who was struggling with Asthma. The “superstar” recalls how his asthmatic condition deprived him of friends and kept him indoors and lonely.
Below is his Inspirational story posted on His official Facebook account;
“Back when I was a little boy in Chipata, Iiving at Chipata Day (B29), I was deprived of friends and play time, as asthma pretty much kept me indoors, and mostly bed ridden. I got used to being alone and hearing other children play, I could only see their faces by looking through the window, I wondered what this Asthma was that was keeping me indoors. My mum feared losing me, so she made sure I was warm and behind closed doors. The only thing that kept me busy was prayer and my imagination. I taught myself to think beyond limits, I had nothing much to offer or play with but my vision / imagination.
Later on moved to Kabwe (Railways), and in my early high school days, I would dedicate 2 hours of practise every single day between 15hrs (3pm) to 17hrs (5pm), even though I never had a single song to my name. I promised my mum I would travel the world and get her the best gifts and presents this world could offer. And slowly God keeps opening doors.
This might seem like a regular picture to some of you. But this picture is stamped with dates and places I only imagined I would visit. You see God is great, prayer is everything, this is my dream coming true. Its taken over 18 years for me to see this happen, my own WORLD TOUR?? even to this date, I still seat and dream of what I want to do. Never stop believing in yourself, never stop perfecting your art. May God bless your vision and dreams. My story is still being written, and it’s one story filled with so much pride and joy, let your story be one you shall share one day. Put God first ALWAYS.”
Roberto will be performing Live in Australia and Malaysia in September and November respectively. The Rnb artiste also highlighted he will announce the dates for USA, Canada and Europe Tour. Late last month, Chef 187 and Afunika also toured Australia for music performances which turned out successful.
