In a digital Era where Stream numbers mean everything to an artiste, YouTube Views are used to equate to the Size of a fanbase of an artiste and also the success of a Song. Slapdee recently released his much anticipated international feature song “Lituation” and the Video was bound to break Zambian YouTube Records.
The “Patoranking” assisted single which had everyone Hyped managed to hit 20K YouTube views in less than 12hours. However the Video has failed to surpass Roberto’s “Vitamin U” which had more than 100K views within 3days. This means Vitamin U which features Tanzania’s “Vanessa Mdee” still holds that record. Both Lituation and Vitamin U were directed by top African Music Video directors “Justin Campose” and “Hanscana” respecitvely.
According to Slapdee, the Music Video for “Lituation” has been targeted to hit 100K Views plus within a week. Judging from the Number of Views it currently has, it’s with no doubt that it is likely to surpass the mark.
Zambian artistes have been reluctant to invest in YouTube views over the years thus losing out YouTube Royalties and just the Pride that comes with a lot of YouTube views.
